ClearChoiceHealth is an independent health insurance comparison platform.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our website. We are committed to complying with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. Our Privacy Approach
ClearChoiceHealth is designed to operate without collecting personal identifying information such as:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Residential address
- Account details
The one exception is the contact form, which you choose to use. See section 3.3.
We do not operate as a broker or lead generation service.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Non-Identifiable Information
When you use the platform, we may collect:
- State or territory
- Household structure
- Life stage indicators
- Cover preferences
- Hospital category selections
- Extras weighting selections
- General health context inputs
This information is used solely to generate comparison results.
We do not request Medicare numbers, policy numbers, or medical records.
3.2 Technical Information
We may collect limited technical data such as:
- Browser type
- Device type
- Anonymous usage metrics
- Cookies (see Cookie Policy)
This information is used to improve performance and security.
3.3 Contact Form
If you use our contact form, we receive your name (if you give it), your email address and your message. They are sent to our inbox by our email delivery provider so that we can reply. This website does not keep a copy. We use your details only to answer you: never for marketing, and we never add you to a mailing list. We keep the email only as long as we need it to deal with your message.
Our email delivery provider is SendLayer.
4. Sensitive Information
Some inputs may relate to health context. Under Australian law, health information is sensitive information.
We treat all health-related inputs as sensitive data.
Health inputs are:
- Used only for comparison logic
- Not sold or shared
- Not used for marketing
- Not linked to identity
5. How We Use Information
Information is used to:
- Apply deterministic filtering rules
- Adjust minimum coverage tiers
- Optimise ranking logic
- Improve comparison accuracy
- Maintain audit and explainability standards
We do not use information for advertising profiling.
6. Data Storage
ClearChoiceHealth is designed to minimise storage of identifiable information.
Where possible, comparison inputs are processed without storing personal identifiers.
While you are answering the questions, your answers are kept in your own browser tab so that a refresh or an accidental Back does not lose your progress. They are erased when you close the tab, and you can remove them at any time by choosing “Start again” on the home page. To show your results, your browser asks our server for the policies that fit two of your answers: your state or territory, and who the cover is for (for example, a single person or a family). Our web server records that request in its standard access log, as it does for every page. Your other answers, including all of your health answers, are never sent to us.
If server-side processing occurs, data is handled securely using industry-standard security controls.
7. Disclosure of Information
We do not sell or trade personal information.
We may disclose limited information to:
- Hosting providers
- Security service providers
- Analytics providers (in aggregated or de-identified form)
- Our email delivery provider, which carries contact form messages to our inbox. It is based overseas (United States).
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information against misuse, interference, and loss.
9. Access and Correction
Apart from contact form messages (section 3.3), we do not collect identifiable personal information, so we generally cannot identify individual users within the system.
